Executive Summary

GoKlaim is an employee benefits platform that enables organizations to offer flexible health and wellness spending accounts. Employees can submit expenses, monitor claim status, manage their available balance, and receive reimbursements through a mobile application. Employers use the web platform to manage members, configure benefit plans, review claims, and monitor spending.

The existing experience needed a clearer product structure and a consistent visual language across its web and mobile platforms. The goal was to simplify complex benefit workflows while creating an interface that could support new features and future growth.

The project delivered a unified experience across more than 51 web screens and 20 mobile screens, supported by reusable components, structured workflows, and a scalable design foundation.


The Challenge

Managing employee benefits involves multiple users, complex eligibility rules, financial information, supporting documents, and different claim statuses.

Employees needed a simple way to understand their available benefits, submit expenses, upload receipts, and follow reimbursement progress. Administrators required greater visibility into employees, plans, balances, claims, and organizational spending.

The challenge was to transform these operational processes into an experience that felt simple, transparent, and dependable.


The Audit Findings

An evaluation of the existing platform highlighted several usability and consistency issues.
Important actions competed with secondary information, making it difficult for users to identify their next step. Claim statuses and available balances lacked sufficient prominence, while dense tables made administrative tasks harder to scan.

Similar actions were presented differently across screens, increasing the learning effort required from users. The mobile experience also needed clearer guidance for submitting claims and resolving incomplete information

The main opportunities were to:

  • Simplify navigation and page hierarchy

  • Make balances and claim statuses easier to understand

  • Reduce unnecessary steps in claim submission

  • Standardize forms, tables, filters and feedback states

  • Improve consistency between desktop and mobile

  • Establish reusable patterns for future product growth


The Product delivery

he platform was redesigned as two connected experiences.

The web dashboard supports administrators managing employees, benefit plans, allowances, claims, reimbursements, and reports. The mobile application gives employees quick access to their benefits, balances, claim history, dependants, and reimbursement activity.

Together, these experiences create a connected system in which employees can submit and monitor claims while administrators maintain control and operational visibility.

The work moved from research and product definition to information architecture, wireframes, interface design, and final delivery.
